Recently back from Wolfville, NS, where I appeared on a fabulous YA author panel with Christy Ann Conlin, Arthur Slade and Mark Oakley at the Atlantic Provinces Librarians Association conference. The day after that I did an author talk at Northeast Kings Education Centre, with one of the best school groups that I have ever experienced in all of my eight years of doing school visits.  One of the classes who came actually did The Droughtlanders as a group!  I love when that happens! The Church of the Holy Cross in S'katin, BC.  This is one of the oldest churches in western Canada, and is the only one with three spires.  What a sight to behold as you're barreling along the logging road in the middle of nowhere, with the rain pounding down and the wind howling ... and as you take the curve, those ominous spires all of a sudden reaching up from the village by the river.
